From Small Town Beginnings to Successful Entrepreneur Grant Wert’s journey began in 1971 when his family made the pivotal decision to move from Medowlake, Saskatchewan, to Grande Prairie (GP), setting the stage for a transformative path ahead. This relocation marked the initial stepping stone in Grant’s evolution from a young boy in a small town to a multifaceted individual and successful entrepreneur.
Following his family’s move, Grant’s father Len, with a background in the auto industry, continued his professional pursuits, laying the foundation for Grant’s own future endeavors. As Grant navigated through his academic years and eventually graduated, he embarked on a journey that would see him explore various passions and make significant contributions to both sports and his local community.
Venturing to Edmonton to pursue his love for football, Grant dedicated seasons to playing Junior football, further enriching his skills and experiences. Returning to Grande Prairie at different points to play for teams like the Junior A hockey with then GP North Stars and the GP Athletics, Grant’s commitment to sports showcased his perseverance and team spirit.
Beyond football, Grant extended his athletic prowess to the men’s Centaurs rugby club and the GP Eskimos baseball team, embodying a well-rounded sports enthusiast. This involvement in diverse sporting activities not only honed his physical abilities but also instilled values of discipline, leadership, and camaraderie.
Transitioning from player to coach in various sports, Grant channeled his passion for mentoring and developing young talent, contributing significantly to the local sports community. His dedication to coaching in minor soccer, football, rugby and hockey underscored his commitment to nurturing the next generation of athletes.
Apart from sports, Grant’s philanthropic endeavors shone through his advocacy for charities like Rissing Above and P.A.C.E, reflecting his deep-rooted belief in giving back to the community and supporting local initiatives. This altruistic spirit underscored his commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
In 1989, Grant embarked on his own automotive career with Doug Marshall GM, setting the stage for his entrepreneurial pursuits. Over the years, he seized opportunities, including becoming a service manager in Nanaimo with the Wheaton Group before returning to Grande Prairie in 2000 to establish Grant Wert Certigard.
Through strategic expansion and business acumen, Grant expanded his automotive empire, acquiring additional locations and diversifying his services. His most recent venture, the Accu-Tech Auto Centre, stands as a testament to his vision of providing top-notch automotive services, including a body shop and a used car sales department.

And now bring his own son John in to complete a three generations in the automotive industry and Customer service Grant is very proud of staff which allows them to offers a true “ One stop shop” with used car auto sales, mechanical repair and complete it off with auto body collision center.
